12.15.26 Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Creating Inclusive Early Childhood Environments

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an inclusive approach to teaching that considers each child’s different abilities, needs, and ways of learning from the very beginning. By creating flexible learning environments and providing multiple ways for children to participate, UDL helps ensure that all children have opportunities to engage, explore, and learn.
Participants will learn:
- What UDL is and why it is important for children ages 0–5
- How UDL benefits children with diverse abilities and learning needs
- The three UDL principles and practical early childhood examples
- Creating inclusive learning spaces: physical, social, and temporal environments
- Practical visual supports and transition strategies
Important Note:
To maintain the quality of the training, participants who arrive more than 15 minutes late may not be able to join the session. Participants are strongly encouraged to actively engage in the training, including keeping their cameras on for at least 80% of the session and participating in breakout room discussions, when applicable.
Registration Deadline: Dec 11th, 2026
Registered participants will receive the Zoom link one day before the training. For questions, please contact reginag@4c-alameda.org
