DESCRIPTION:Module 1- Prevention of Infectious Diseases\nModule 2- Injury Prevention\nModule 3- Nutrition \nThe curriculum is used to train child care providers who are new to the field or experienced early care and education professionals who are taking the course to update their knowledge and make sure they are up to date. This course provides 8 hours of the Preventive Health and Safety and Nutrition requirement\, using curriculum and materials approved by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority\, under the direction of the UCSF-California Childcare Health Program Preventive Health Training Program\, Mira Liao. The course includes 1 hour of nutrition and instruction in the prevention of lead exposure\, as required by California Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.  \nAt this time\, translators and additional guests may not join attendees at 4Cs of Alameda County’s health and safety trainings including CPR & First Aid and Preventive Health due to capacity and regulation requirements. SUMMARY:CPR/FA for Child Care Providers May 30th\, 2026 (In Person Class)
DESCRIPTION:This curriculum is used to train child care providers who are new to the field or experienced early care and education professionals who are taking the course to refresh their knowledge and keep their certification current. This training curriculum provides the eight hours of EMSA approved CPR/First Aid training required to obtain a child care license.   \nThis class will be facilitated in English\, all participants must have a basic understanding of spoken and written English.  At this time\, translators and additional guests may not join attendees at 4Cs of Alameda County’s Health and Safety trainings due to capacity and regulation requirements.  If you need a class facilitated in a language other than English\, please contact Barbara Kasnic at barbarak@4c-alameda.org or Mary Beltran at maryb@4c-alameda.org for a list of other training organizations. \n Registration will end when capacity is reached (24 participants) or on May 22nd\, 2026\, or whichever comes first. \nThank you for your interest! This workshop helps educators rethink “downtime” as valuable learning time. Participants will explore how transitions affect the developing brain\, particularly self‑regulation\, and learn simple\, effective strategies for creating a calm\, predictable classroom environment.\n\n\n\n\n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES \n\nUnderstand How Transitions Work: Identify the environmental and developmental factors that contribute to “bottleneck” moments during the school day.\nImplement Visual and Auditory Supports: Build a toolkit of engaging cues—such as clapping patterns\, visual timers\, or call-and-response signals.\nStrengthen Executive Function: Apply strategies that help children follow multi-step transitions.\nDesign a Balanced Daily Flow: Create a schedule that reduces wait times and maximizes engagement. \n\n  \nThis is a virtual event.
