Living in a multigenerational home\, which is defined as three or more generations in one household\, is by no means uncommon. Before the pandemic\, one in five Americans lived in one\, and a new study from Generations United found those numbers have risen in the past year\, with more than one in four Americans now living in a multigenerational household. Still\, living in one for the first time can completely overhaul your day-to-day life\, and people can potentially flounder in the new dynamics if they’re not prepared. Despite the successes and benefits\, it’s not surprising that 75 percent note it can be stressful at times. It’s important to have a clear plan before moving forward\, and consider how to split costs and set boundaries. \nThank you for your interest! Registration is closed. I don’t believe having an active social life makes one an irresponsible parent. It’s actually the opposite. We have to take care of our own emotional needs. I truly believe that happy and rested people are the best parents (although being rested may sound like a wishful thinking in the beginning — don’t worry\, it gets better). One of the main benefits of going out socially is the positive mental and even physical impact it has on a person. Even though it can take a while to figure out how to fit your parenting and social life together\, you can. And it’s not the end of life as you know it while you figure out how to do it. \nThank you for your interest! Registration is closed. Over the past couple years I’ve found that doing regular “performance reviews” of myself has helped me make sure I am on track to reach the goals I set at the beginning of the year. By systematically doing a high-level review of my plan AND action steps\, I got a clearer picture of what I need to take care of in order to continue to grow.
