Alameda County Early Child Care and Education Planning Council advises and makes recommendations to policymakers to ensure that all children and families have access to quality child care that educates children and enriches their lives.
California Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC) is a statewide association dedicated to advancing excellence throughout the early care and education profession.
California Association for Family Child Care (CAFCC) is a statewide association that promotes the healthy growth and development of children and offers support for families by providing high quality, developmentally appropriate, and flexible care through a wide range of care options.
The California Child Care Health Program provides a wealth of materials on health and safety in early care and education settings for professionals and families that can be downloaded for free from their website.
California School Age Consortium works to support and advance afterschool and out-of-school time programs and providers throughout California. The consortium offers training, resources, advocacy, and information to help professionals who work with school age children.
Community Care Licensing holds orientations for prospective providers, issues family child care/child care center licenses and enforces child care regulations. To attend a licensing orientation, preregistration and prepayment are required; call CCL at (510) 622-2602. You can also complete the licensing orientation online.
Center for the Childcare Workforce (CCW) works to improve the quality of early care and education for all children by promoting policy, research, and organizing that ensure the early care and education workforce is well-educated, receives better compensation, and has a voice in the workplace.
East Bay Association for the Education of Young Children (EBAEYC) is the local affiliate of CAEYC. The organization provides opportunities to meet and network with colleagues in Alameda County.

First 5 Alameda County supports a comprehensive system of early childhood care to help prepare kids for success in school and reach their full potential. This system includes programs and projects related to early care and education, developmental screening, mental health services, early intervention, nutrition and feeding guidance, and parenting skills.
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 80,000 members, a national network of over 300 local, state, and regional affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations.
