- 4Cs of Alameda County’s RISE Resource Centers • 4Cs of Alameda County’s Hayward & Oakland Offices • Community members need to make an appointment to visit the centers during open hours to select clothing and other essential items, free of charge.
- Davis Street Community Center’s Clothing Program • Offers gently used free clothing to low-income families and individuals. Clothes for men, women and children in a wide range of sizes.
- St. Vincent De Paul of Alameda • Clothing Closet offering free gently worn clothing by appointment.
- Clothing Closet by Telegraph Ministry Center • The clothing room provides new and gently clothing for not only children but people of all ages. All of the items clients receive from the Telegraph Ministry Center are provided free of charge.
- All Good Living Foundation • Provides free clothing to students, their families, and staff in schools within Alameda County.
- Hayward Public Library’s Monthly Diaper Distribution • Second Thursday of every month | 11am-12pm | Hayward Public Library (888 C St, Hayward) • Free diaper kits for families! Diaper distribution for low-income Hayward residents will continue on a month by month basis.
- Jaguar Speed Inc & University Of Oakland’s Diapers Giveaway (PDF) • A monthly, registration-required program to provide free diapers to families in need in the Oakland/Alameda County area.
- Alameda County WIC’s Breastfeeding Celebration • August 7th | 10:30am – 1:30pm | Kennedy Park 19501 Hesperian Blvd. Hayward, CA 94541 • Free event • Diapers, snacks, raffles, community programs, music, and more!
- ALMA Fund – MAF • Financial support funds for when a family’s primary earner is detained or deported.
- Season of Sharing (SOS) Fund • Provides one-time, non-recurring financial assistance to individuals and families who have emergency needs, including housing and critical family needs.
- SparkPoint (Fremont Resource Center) • Provides a full range of free financial services to help individuals and families get out of debt and achieve long-term financial stability.
- California’s Summer EBT program (AKA SUN Bucks) • Provides $120 per eligible child to help families buy groceries when school is out. Most eligible families receive benefits automatically. However, if your child does not qualify automatically, then you must submit a Universal Benefits Application to their school by August 31, 2026.
- 4Cs of Alameda County’s Monthly Food Distribution • First Thursday of every month | 1pm-3pm | Hayward Office Garage (22351 City Center Drive, Hayward) • A variety of canned and dry goods available for you to take. Please bring a shopping bag. Due to safety and limited supply, registration is required!
- Alameda County Community Food Bank’s CalFresh Application Assistance • Helpline will connect you to a source for groceries or a hot meal the same day you call.
- Women, Infants & Children Program • Helps families with healthy food, nutrition tips, and expert guidance on breastfeeding and chestfeeding.
- Asian Health Services’ Monthly Food Distribution • First Wednesday of every month | 10am | Lincoln Recreation Center (261 11th St, Oakland) • Free food packages for patients and community members. Must bring ID and shopping bag.
- SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) Hayward Unified School District • Helps families with eligible school-age children buy groceries during summer months when kids might not have full access to school meals.
- San Leandro Community Food Pantry Monthly Food Distribution • Every Thursday | 6-8 pm | 14235 Bancroft Ave, San Leandro • A variety of items, protein, dairy, fruits & vegetables, bread, and desserts. Please bring a shopping bag. Line starts at 5 registration is required!
- The East Oakland Collective Monthly Food Distribution • Every Thursday | 11am-1pm | 7800 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland • Fresh and healthy meals from local restaurants and groceries. A variety of fresh groceries- produce, meat, and shelf stable goods. No eligibility requirements. Registration required and available on site.
- Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center • Health Insurance Aid • Call or text (510) 288-3505 and a certified Covered California team member will help you apply for free or low-cost health insurance!
- East Bay Agency for Children • Health Insurance Aid • Serves families in the Hayward Unified School District to help with healthcare insurance enrollment and retention (Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Kaiser Health Care Plan).
- La Familia Counseling Center • Counseling & Emotional Support • Provides high-quality mental health and community support services in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Family Paths • Counseling & Emotional Support • Offers caring mental health help for children, teens, and families going through hard times like stress, trauma, abuse, or violence.
- Housing Resource Center (HRC) Access Points • Housing Resource Centers provide housing problem solving services and other coordinated entry services to people who are experiencing homelessness in Alameda County.
- Hayward Housing Division • Assists residents in identifying resources to help address their housing needs, such as information on rental housing, home ownership and more.
- Eden Housing • Manages high-quality, affordable housing for low-income families, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
- Bay Area Affordable Housing Service Center • Providing affordable housing resources and information to low-income and senior individuals or families in the Bay Area.

- Centro Legal de la Raza • Serves the needs of most vulnerable community members, including families living in poverty, youth, victims of violent crimes, asylum seekers, and detained individuals in removal proceedings.
- Humanmade’s Next Generation Manufacturing Training Program • September 21 to December 11, 2026 (new sessions begin every 3 months) • Morning Class on Mon-Fri at 10am-3:30pm for 12 weeks OR Evening Class on Mon-Fri at 4pm-9:30pm for 12 weeks • A free 12-week course for students to gain hands-on proficiency in CNC machining, 3D printing, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM computer software.
- Alameda County Social Services Agency (ACSSA) CalWORKs Medical Assistant Certification Program (PDF) • This 10 to 12-month program provides comprehensive Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy training, including classroom instruction and a paid externship at $20 per hour. program.
- Urban Forestry Workforce Development Program • Jumpstart your urban forestry career with Growing Futures, a paid program offering hands-on learning, full tuition to Merritt College arboriculture courses, and pathways to professional certification.
- Student Transit Pass Program • Eligible middle and high school students in Alameda County can receive a free Student Transit Pass, offering unlimited free rides on AC Transit, Union City Transit, or Wheels, 50% off BART fares, discounts on other Bay Area transit systems.
