The curriculum is used to train child care providers who are new to the field or experienced early care and education professionals who are taking the course to update their knowledge and make sure they are up-to-date. This course provides 8 hours of the Preventive Health and Safety and Nutrition requirement, using curriculum and materials approved by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority, under the direction of the UCSF-California Childcare Health Program Preventive Health Training Program, Bobbie Rose and Mira Liao. The course includes 1 hour of nutrition and instruction in the prevention of lead exposure, as required by California Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866. 

At this time, translators and additional guests may not join attendees at 4Cs of Alameda County’s health and safety trainings including CPR & First Aid and Preventive Health due to capacity and regulation requirements. If an attendee brings a guest or translator, they will be asked to wait in the lobby until the end of the class. If you need a class facilitated in a language other than English, please contact Barbara Kasnic at barbarak@4c-alameda.org or Mary Beltran at maryb@4c-alameda.org for a list of other training organizations. 

Please note the following: 

• This is an in-person class, 4Cs staff will not be checking vaccination status, however all attendees will be asked to wear a mask during class.
• You must register separately for each attendee and pay the $125.00 fee.
• Upon completion of class, 4Cs will issue a reimbursement of $75 to each participant.
• Registration will end when capacity is reached (24participants) or on Friday October 6th, 2023, whichever comes first.
