Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

Do you like helping people? Serving your community?

Then the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program may be just what you are looking for. VITA is a program that involves volunteers from many walks of life to help taxpayers who cannot afford professional tax assistance.

For 20 years, Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Alameda County VITA program has helped low-income families (including non-English speaking families) and those with special needs, to include persons with disabilities. VITA volunteers prepare income tax returns; provide information and referral to programs and services available at 4Cs of Alameda County.

Become a VITA Volunteer!

There are many volunteer opportunities with VITA, even if you are not interested in preparing taxes. We need Tax Preparers, VITA Greeters, Intake Specialists, and Translators (we are especially looking for volunteers who are fluent in Spanish, Chinese, Punjabi, Farsi and American Sign Language).

No experience necessary! Free training provided!

Also, our tax preparation service will be 100% virtual and we’ve partnered with Code for America to offer online filing via the Get Your Refund secure platform.

In partnership with UWBA.
