As parents and children prepare for the school year, 4Cs of Alameda County will be giving away backpacks for Preschool/Kindergarten and elementary school students, as well as books and other supplies to support learning and development. Due to limited supply, you must RSVP! Each family is limited to two Preschool/Kindergarten backpacks and two elementary school backpacks, therefore, a limit of 4 backpacks total per family. Once the spaces are filled, you will be able to register on a waiting list for backpacks that are not picked up.

Supporting Social Emotional Development, the Cornerstone of Child Development 0-5 yrs
Virtual EventWhen young children develop healthy social and emotional skills such as positive communication, self-regulation, maintaining relationships and following instructions they thrive. These skills are foundational to the development of core academic skills such as literacy, mathematics, critical thinking and most other cognitive functions. In this interactive virtual training we will take a deep dive into the meaning and value of social emotional development 0-5 years through the lens of human development theories. Learn practical strategies for both programs and parents to support strengthening these skills in young children 0-5 years, and discuss how our own social emotional skills impact the children (and families) we serve.
