Self-care and self-love is often romanticized, but it isn’t as easy as people think. Learning to care and love yourself means healing from the things you refuse to talk about. It isn’t just hitting the gym or spoiling yourself with luxury and gifts. It isn’t just about doing the things you love, but it’s about growing and building yourself up to be the person you’ve always wanted to become. It’s admitting your faults and weaknesses, and only then can you learn to care and love yourself completely. A lot of people think that the road is as easy as doing the things you enjoy doing, but it’s also a road of transformation, growth, and self-discovery. Learning to care and love yourself needs patience and practice. It’s not something that takes overnight, but it’s a gradual process. |

For many of our kids, tablets and smartphones have become their lifeline to their friends and to the outside world. As parents we let them log on, and before we know it, screen time becomes way too much screen time, and then bad habits are formed. By implementing new practices, we equip our children with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in a world where technology plays an ever-increasing role. A “cold turkey” approach is not recommended. Instead retraining the child brain to acclimate to both “high-dopamine” activities and “low-dopamine” screen time AND non-screen activities. The goal is helping your child find a balance between the two then explaining to them why. |
